Chief Dorsett's Bio
My career as a firefighter continues a long family tradition. In fact, my grandfather helped found the Guil-Rand Fire Department. I joined the Denton Fire Department in 2004, and worked my way up through the ranks. My service includes serving as Lieutenant for three years, and Training Captain for two. When I'm not carrying out my duties as Fire Chief for the Denton Fire Department, I serve as a full-time firefighter for the town of Lexington, where I have worked for a year and a half.
I wanted to be Denton's Fire Chief because I like to take a proactive approach, rather than a reactive one. My goal is to leave the Denton Fire Department better than I found it. As Chief, I can accomplish this goal through staff training and helping the department acauire better equipment.
The Denton Fire Department operates 3 fire engines, 1 brush truck, and 1 utilities /service truck. Visit our Fire Department Apparatus page to see more images.
