     Denton is located in the southern region of Davidson County, North Carolina and has the highest elevation in the county. As of the census of 2000, there were 1450 people, 595 households, and 411 families residing within it's town limits.

     A sportsmans paradise, southern Davidson County and Denton are the home to unparalleled fishing and hunting, with its close proximity to High Rock Lake.
